
Jacobo Gadala-Maria, Jr. was one of the key architects in the acquisition of PRS Investment Advisory by EFG. In addition to his current role as President and CEO of PRS, Jacobo is on the board of Asesores y Gestores Finacieros S.A. (“A&G”), a Spanish based affiliate of EFG International, and is a member of EFG International’s Global Advisory Committee.
Prior to joining EFG, Jacobo was the CEO of Dresdner Lateinamerika Financial Advisors LLC (DLFA), a wholly owned Broker Dealer of Dresdner Bank Lateinamerika AG, and a member of the Allianz Group. EFG acquired DLFA in August of 2005, and DLFA was later merged with EFG Capital. Prior to joining the Allianz Group, Jacobo was the founder and President of Vestrust Securities L.P., a United States registered broker dealer that originated in Miami. Vestrust (which was sold to Dresdner Bank in 2002 and is the predecessor company of DLFA) offered a wide range of financial and investment services in Latin America, both in the fixed-income and equity areas. Before founding Vestrust, Jacobo was a Vice President with Bankers Trust Company in the Latin American Merchant Banking Area. During his tenure at Bankers Trust, Jacobo worked in New York, Mexico and Miami.
Jacobo has served as a member of the Mercy Hospital Foundation’s Board of Directors and is currently a Director of the Salvadoran American Humanitarian Foundation in Miami. He is also the honorary consul of the Principality of Monaco for El Salvador.
Jacobo earned his MBA from the University of Rochester and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. Jacobo is fluent in Spanish, French, and English.
